Ichthys LNG Train 2 restarts, Train 1 to resume full ops in Nov.
Train 2 at Australia's Ichthys LNG restarted operations on Oct. 9, project operator Inpex Corp said in an emailed statement on Friday, after it was previously taken offline for inspection and repair works.
Inpex added that the rate of operations at Train 1 is expected to return to 100% by mid-November.
Train 2 had been taken offline for inspection and repair works on Aug. 20, while the rate of operations at Train 1 was reduced to 70% for preventive measures due to issues related to the heat exchangers.
Ichthys LNG is a joint venture between Inpex, TotalEnergies and the Australian subsidiaries of CPC Corporation Taiwan, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric Power, JERA and Toho Gas.
The plant's processing trains can produce 8.9 metric MMtpy of LNG.
The plant had previously experienced an outage in July. An Inpex executive said in early August that a gas leak at Train 2 had caused a temporary suspension of production.
