Grupa Azoty and American Gas Partners pursue potential U.S. gas supply deal
A newly signed letter of intent marks the first step for both parties to negotiate the finer points of a potential agreement. Should a deal be reached, deliveries would be facilitated via a dedicated procurement platform set to include a select group of European gas buyers and designated U.S. gas producers.
American Gas Partners is currently working on a major infrastructure project to load liquefied gas in the United States, significantly boosting export capacity to Europe—including Poland.
“Natural gas is central to Grupa Azoty’s competitiveness, so we’re actively exploring market opportunities to diversify our supply. We’re speaking with partners who can offer competitively priced products, backed by reliable infrastructure and a forward-looking business model,” commented Hubert Kamola, Vice President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A.
“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Grupa Azoty. A transparent platform for gas consumers—supported by independent U.S. gas producers—could deliver real, cost-effective benefits from a stable region. In today’s geopolitical environment, I believe our work together will also translate into tangible advantages for Poland,” said Pierce Kirby, President of American Gas Partners Inc.
