Noble Energy to sponsor second Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference

Noble Energy will return to serve as host sponsor for the second annual Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference (EMGC), which will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel, on March 10 through March 12, 2014.

Charles D. Davidson, chairman and CEO of Noble Energy, will deliver the keynote address at the conference, which is organized by Gulf Publishing Company.

The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference will give special focus to the latest market and technologytrends related to the exploration, drilling, production, processing and marketing of natural gas offshore Israel and throughout the Eastern Mediterranean.

A series of recent discoveries by Noble Energy, the largest operator in the region, has increased the estimated gross resources of natural gas awaiting development in the area to more than 35 trillion cubic feet (Tcf). The Tamar natural gas field, first discovered in 2009, came online in March 2013, and is estimated to contain 10 Tcf of natural gas. Meanwhile, the discovery in Block 12 offshore Cyprus, with gross mean resources ranging from 3.6 Tcf to 6 Tcf, is the country’s first significant natural gas discovery The Leviathan field is the largest in the region with an estimated recoverable gross mean resource of 18 Tcf of natural gas.

The Israeli and Cypriot governments are actively determining their natural gas policies, as well as evaluating plans to develop the infrastructure needed to process and transport natural gas. EMGC will cover such critical issues as resource potential, leasing/permitting, development plans, infrastructure requirements, regulations, and more.

The conference will provide attendees with the knowledge and insight necessary to successfully build business operations in the area, which, with further discoveries and development, has the potential to impact the natural gas industry globally.

“We are thrilled to be bringing the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference to Tel Aviv, Israel at such an important time," said John Royall, CEO of Gulf Publishing Company, publisher of World Oil, Hydrocarbon Processing and Gas Processing.

"There is no doubt that the recent finds will have a significant impact on the region’s gas markets," he added. "Like in Nicosia this past April, the 2014 conference will provide an opportunity for those who are actively involved in the planning and development of the industry to gain valuable information and strengthen relationships."

Noble Energy was also host sponsor of the inaugural Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference, held in April 2013, where Davidson also delivered the keynote address. Speakers at the 2013 conference included representatives from Hyperion Systems Engineering Group, Cyprus National Hydrocarbons Co., Total E&P Research, Deloitte Ltd., and Technology USA LLC, as well as Cypriot government officials and the former Minister of Energy and National Infrastructure for Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources.

The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Conference will be held at the Hilton Tel Aviv, Independence Park, Tel Aviv 63405, Israel. For more information about the conference, please visit http://www.emgasconference.com.
