Baker Botts advises Sempra Infrastructure Partners on long-term LNG sale and purchase agreements
Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international energy, technology and life sciences law firm, advised Sempra Infrastructure Partners, a subsidiary of Sempra, on several 20-yr liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreements (SPAs) for the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project with JERA Co. Inc., ConocoPhillips, EQT Corporation and Sempra Infrastructure Partners.

The agreements are related to the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project, which is under construction and achieved a positive final investment decision.
The SPAs include:
- A 20-yr agreement with JERA Co. Inc. for the supply of 1.5 metric MMtpy of LNG (learn more)
- A 20-yr agreement with ConocoPhillips for 4 MMtpy of LNG, building on the companies’ existing strategic partnership (learn more)
- A 20-yr agreement with EQT Corporation for the supply of 2 MMtpy of LNG (learn more)
- 20-yr agreements with Sempra Infrastructure Partners
Each of these transactions marked a significant step in advancing the development of the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project and reflects continued momentum in long-term U.S. LNG export agreements.
