Natural gas flow to Cheniere's Corpus Christi LNG plant reduced on Tuesday

Cheniere Energy's LNG.N Corpus Christi LNG plant in south Texas (U.S.) was pulling half its usual amount of natural gas on Tuesday, according to data from financial firm LSEG, suggesting one of its plants could be down.

The plant is one of the largest in the United States and usually pulls up to 2.4 Bft³d of natural gas, but on Tuesday it was only using 1.1 Bft³d, according to LSEG data.

Cheniere was not immediately available for comment.

The reduced demand for natural gas from Corpus Christi resulted in an overall drop in natural gas use from U.S. LNG plants to 15.4 Bft³d on Tuesday from 16.3 Bft³d on Monday.

The U.S. is the world's largest LNG exporter and Cheniere its largest LNG producer.
