JGC awarded services contract for Shell Prelude FLNG Project
YOKOHAMA, Japan – JGC Corporation has announced that it has received an order for the construction management and completion support services for the Prelude FLNG project from Shell Australia Pty., Ltd. and its partners.

The Prelude FLNG project is expected to produce 3.6 MMt of LNG annually by using natural gas from the offshore Prelude and Concerto Gas Fields located approximately 475 km North-North East of Broome, Western Australia. After the completion of all work at the shipyard in South Korea, the FLNG facility will be towed to its operating location offshore of Western Australia.
Since the final investment decision for the project was made in May, 2011, European and Korean contractors have executed engineering, procurement and construction of the facility. In a shipyard in Korea, module installation work has been completed. And now, construction work is in its final stages and commissioning well and truly underway. Shell Australia Pty., Ltd. has contracted JGC to support the completions work for its safe and on-schedule completion.
JGC has executed a considerable number of projects for Shell in the past. In particular, JGC played a part in the completion of the Qatar Mega GTL Project, which was completed in 2012. For this project, JGC, was in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction of the main GTL production facility within the plant.
