PSB Industries highlights advanced oxygen and moisture removal systems
- Customizable Deoxo-Dryer packages deliver pipeline compliance, turnkey installation, and exceptional product quality across diverse applications
PSB Industries, a specialist in the design and fabrication of systems for dehydrating and purifying gasses and liquids, is highlighting its oxygen and moisture removal system designed for natural gas, landfill gas, wastewater treatment plant gas, and dairy gas applications. Engineered to optimize product quality and reliability, the turnkey Deoxo-Dryer packages utilize a precious metal catalyst operated at elevated temperatures to eliminate oxygen from methane gas. The technology enables renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities to meet strict pipeline tariffs, secure product pipeline access, and safeguard downstream piping and infrastructure from corrosion.

Each Deoxo package reliably produces less than 1.0 parts per million by volume (ppmv) oxygen at exit, which significantly exceeds most pipeline requirements, including those that require less than 5 ppmv oxygen. These systems handle a broad spectrum of pipeline tariffs, from 0.1% oxygen down to below 5 ppmv, providing flexible compliance for various market and pipeline owner specifications.
To further ensure gas quality, each solution incorporates a dual tower TSA and desiccant dryer that reduces water vapor levels to less than 4 lb per million standard cubic feet (MMsft3). This ensures a consistently dry methane gas output, improving overall product quality and pipeline compatibility. Ancillary equipment such as a hydrogen sulfide (H2S) guard bed, economizer, air and water coolers, moisture knockout, and auto drain is included with every system, offering a complete and integrated solution that lowers installation complexity and cost.
System designs are customized based on gas composition, flow, temperature, and pressure, allowing each solution to be optimized for the customer's unique operating conditions. The optional H2S guard bed not only extends system life by protecting the catalyst it also reduces ongoing maintenance costs, enhancing operational reliability.
These turnkey packages efficiently remove both oxygen and moisture from pretreated biogas streams, resulting in higher purity for landfill, digester, wastewater, and coal bed sources. By combining oxygen and moisture removal, the system eliminates redundancies, reduces both capital (CAPEX) and operating (OPEX) costs, and minimizes system footprint. For dairy gas applications, standardized Deoxo-Dryer models are available, which decrease upfront design and engineering expenses while improving lead times.
Design options are available to accommodate gas processing at different stages within the landfill gas, dairy, and wastewater treatment plant to RNG flow train. This adaptability ensures robust, reliable performance for a diverse range of raw gas sources and varying locations within the biogas value chain, helping operators achieve lasting compliance and product excellence.
