Vietnam's first LNG power plant will start supplying electricity to the national grid on Saturday, its developer PetroVietnam Power said.
The 750-megawatt Nhon Trach 3 Plant in the southern province of Dong Nai is the first in a fleet of 13 LNG-fired plants with total capacity of 22.4 gigawatts that Vietnam aims to have by 2030.
PetroVietnam Power said Nhon Trach 3 and a nearby plant, Nhon Trach 4, will both start commercial operations by June this year.
