Chevron and LNG workers in Australia agree on deal

(Reuters) - Chevron Australia and employees at its two LNG plants in Australia reached an agreement on pay and conditions, ending an impasse that had led workers to threaten renewed strikes later this week.

The Offshore Alliance union said it had called off strikes originally planned for Thursday at the U.S. energy major's Gorgon and Wheatstone projects in Western Australia, which supply around 6% of the world's LNG.

Earlier this year, Australia's Woodside Energy also managed to avert strikes after reaching a deal with workers in August.
