Russian gas exports to Europe via pipeline from Sept. 1-15 down 2% on August
(Reuters) - Natural gas exports to Europe from Russia's Gazprom via pipeline edged down 2% in the first half of September compared to average levels in August when supplies were at their highest level this year, Reuters calculations showed on Friday.
The Sudzha metering point on the Russia-Ukraine border, as well as the TurkStream pipeline that crosses the Black Sea, are the last remaining routes for piping Russian gas to Europe.
Average daily pipeline exports in the first half of September declined to 89.7 million cubic meters (mcm) from 91.7 mcm in August, according to calculations based on data from European gas transmission group Entsog and Gazprom's daily reports on gas transit via Ukraine.
Gazprom has suspended the disclosure of its exports data. The company did not respond to a request for comment.
Gazprom's total natural gas supplies to the European Union have stood at around 1.35 billion cubic metres (bcm) in September so far.
Of that, some 716.1 mcm, or 47.7 mcm per day, were sent via the TurkStream pipeline.
Russia's piped gas exports to Europe stand at around 19 bcm this year. They totaled 62 bcm for the whole of 2022.
