Global LNG markets to further tighten next year (1)

(Reuters) - Global liquefied natural gas (LNG) markets are set to tighten further next year, as Europe's imports will increase and as China's appetite may rebound, the head of the International Energy Agency (IEA) said at a conference on Tuesday.

Fatih Birol said during the Singapore International Energy Week that only 20 billion cubic meters of new LNG capacity will come to market next year, and that the world is in the middle of "the first truly global energy crisis".
