Russia's Sakhalin Energy resumes full LNG output

Russia-based Sakhalin Energy said on Monday it has resumed production of LNG in full after major maintenance that started in the beginning of July.

Located on the southern tip of the Russian Pacific island of Sakhalin, the company produced and shipped record volumes of LNG in 2020, topping 11.6 million tonnes and accounting for 3.2% of the global LNG demand.

Sakhalin Energy is controlled by Kremlin-owned Gazprom GAZP.MM. It supplies LNG to the Asia-Pacific and has major customers in China, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
