Increased activity at Bilbao LNG plant
Bahía de Bizkaia Gas (BBG), the main supplier of natural gas for domestic, commercial and industrial consumption located in the Port of Bilbao and controlled by EVE and Enagás, has received 53 ships so far this year and has loaded a small scale , 19 more than in all of 2018.
That is why, once again, it repeats as the regasification plant with the greatest use in Spain. Specifically, it operates at 60% of its capacity (double the total of the 6 plants in operation in Spain). The general director of BBG , Javier López, as well as all those responsible for the plant expect that 70% will be used at the end of the year.
Why this remarkable evolution? Especially due to the high demand for gas and also to the origin of the ships that transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) that prefer to do so in the Atlantic zone, and choose the plant located in Bilbao.
Good data for the third quarter of 2019
BBG continues to reap good data. Specifically, so far this year the number of ship discharges at the Bilbao plant has increased considerably (53 ships and has loaded a small scale ).
