CRYO Shipping to deliver LNG for bunkering in northern Norway
8/29/2017
Bergen-based CRYO Shipping AS has announced a new LNG infrastructure plan for northern Norway that is designed to aid ships using LNG as bunker fuel.
Under its plan, CRYO will establish "short-sea" shipping operations for the transport of LNG in the northernmost counties of Norway, Nordland, Troms and Finnmark.
At present, LNG deliveries for marine operations in these counties are carried out by road tanker and tank container, which increases heavy-load traffic on roads and creates safety and environmental risks.
CRYO Shipping has been awarded €1 MM in grants to implement the new LNG sea trade route.
