Linde announces production JV with Air Products
BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Linde North America Inc. announced a new production JV with Air Products to build a large-scale air separation unit (ASU) and industrial gas liquefier in Glenmont, NY. The 50/50 JV will operate under the name East Coast Nitrogen and will produce liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon.
"This joint venture is one of a series of investments that continue to support our North America growth strategy," said Chris Ebeling, Vice President, Merchant & Packaged Gases Sales & Marketing, Linde North America Inc. "This new venture further underscores our continued expansion in our gas application technologies while at the same time adding to our reliability and efficiency of our network."
The new facility will be built at an existing Air Products' location in Glenmont, NY and is expected to begin operations toward the end of December—Q4 2018.
The plant will have a production capacity of over 1,000 tpd of LOX and LIN and will serve the growing requirements of customers from the food, manufacturing, metals, glass, chemical, electronics and healthcare industries. The new plant is designed to be extremely energy efficient while maximizing production capability.
