SNC-Lavalin awarded $22-MM gas plant contract

MONTREAL -- SNC-Lavalin has won a mandate of more than $22 MM from PSEG Power Connecticut LLC, for its Bridgeport Harbor Unit 5 project in the state of Connecticut, in the United States. The 485-MW combined-cycle gas plant will replace an existing coal facility.

SNC-Lavalin's scope includes engineering and procurement support. SNC-Lavalin is also providing key personnel to augment PSEG's on-site construction management team. This contract comes as an addition to the company's EPC work on another PSEG project: the 755-MW combined-cycle natural gas-fired Keys Energy Center project located in Maryland.

"SNC-Lavalin is pleased at the confidence that PSEG has placed in us," said Sandy Taylor, President, Power. "It's a testament to the relationship we have built with our customer and our recent performance on the Keys project that they have awarded this contract to us."

SNC-Lavalin will provide engineering services on-site and from its Seattle office, which specializes in natural gas plant engineering.

Bridgeport Harbour Unit 5 is targeted to be completed and supplying energy to the Connecticut region as of June 2019.
