BP Trinidad and Tobago LLC (“bpTT”) will be undertaking a planned turnaround with an associated production outage at its Mahogany Bravo (B) offshore hub in August 2016 to facilitate the tie-in of the Juniper export line. This is to facilitate the 2017 startup of the new Juniper development, which is bpTT’s first subsea field development.
The Mahogany Bravo installation serves as a hub for the Mahogany Alpha and Savonette platforms that are tied back into this facility. The Juniper platform (currently being fabricated) and its corresponding subsea infrastructure will tie into Mahogany Hub network following the turnaround.
BP Trinidad and Tobago has a dedicated project team that is leading the planning and execution of this turnaround to ensure the work is executed as safely and efficiently as possible. BP Trinidad and Tobago is also working with the National Gas Company (NGC) and other industry stakeholders to minimize the impact to the gas supply to downstream.
Critical maintenance work on the facility will also be executed during this turnaround to ensure the safety and reliability of the facility. This activity must be undertaken to ensure compliance with both industry and BP standards and statutory requirements. Some of the maintenance work will include: Juniper subsea installation, large bore valve change outs, critical vessel inspections, upgrade to the basic process control system (BPCS) and other reliability improvement activities.
During the 33-day turnaround, the Mahogany Hub Bypass Project will also be executed which will allow the Mahogany Bravo facility to be taken offline to facilitate vessel inspections while allowing production from Savonette and Mahogany Alpha to continue.
