Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a detailed engineering contract by Felguera IHI—a company owned by Duro Felguera Group—for the expansion of the Zeebrugge LNG terminal in Belgium.
The value of the contract, to be delivered over the next 15 months, has not been announced.
Amec Foster Wheeler’s scope includes detailed engineering of the boil-off gas recovery system and associated facilities as well as the inter-connection with the new LNG storage tank and the existing plant facilities.
Zeebrugge LNG Terminal is owned and operated by Fluxys LNG from Belgium. The appointed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor is a joint venture comprising Duro Felguera Oil & Gas, Felguera IHI and Balzola.
The overall EPC expansion will consist of the design, construction and start-up of a boil-off gas recovery system and fifth LNG storage tank of the plant, which will be one of the largest in the world with a capacity of 180,000 Nm3.
