Excelerate Energy reaches milestone for LNG ship-to-ship transfer
Excelerate Energy has completed its 700th commercial ship-to-ship (STS) transfer of LNG in Escobar, Argentina, at the GNL Escobar LNG import facility.
Using Excelerate's regasification vessel Exemplar and the conventional LNG carrier Cadiz Knutsen, 2.6 MMcf of LNG were transferred using the double-banked LNG transfer system.
Excelerate has successfully transferred over 2613 MMcf using its STS protocol – of the 700 operations, 602 have been with third-party vessels.
Excelerate Energy developed and implemented its first STS transfer system for LNG deliveries to regasification vessels in 2005 in order to optimize the capabilities of regasification vessels and to provide a viable solution for providing a continuous supply of natural gas to market.
To date, the company has completed STS transfers of LNG in locations around the world including Argentina (409), Brazil (127), the Caribbean (4), Cyprus (10), Dubai (2), the Gulf of Mexico (4), Kuwait (142) and the United Kingdom (2).
Excelerate offers a full range of floating regasification services, from FSRU to infrastructure development, and serves the upstream market through the development of floating liquefaction (FLNG) solutions.
The company provides access to LNG supply and market to its downstream and upstream customers.
