Although the gas processing and LNG industries took a major hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, new project announcements within the sector have increased for two straight months. According to Gulf Energy Information’s Energy Web Atlas, new monthly gas processing/LNG project announcements have more than doubled since April. Most of the new projects are gas processing plants and/or LNG import terminals in Asia, followed by new hydrogen projects in Western Europe. Additional hydrogen pilot plants and commercial ventures are being developed to utilize hydrogen as an alternative fuel. GP
