Global Project Data
Lee Nichols, Editor/Associate Publisher, Hydrocarbon Processing
Energy Web Atlas is tracking nearly 100 active gas processing/LNG projects in the US. Approximately 40% of these projects are for the construction of LNG export terminals, while the remaining 60% are for the construction of new infrastructure to process additional domestic shale gas production. Over the past several years, the US midstream sector has witnessed a surge in new gas processing capacity additions. This buildout includes grassroots plant construction, as well as expansions to existing assets. For example, the Marcellus/Utica shale region’s gas processing capacity has increased from approximately 1 Bft3d to more than 10 Bft3d in less than a decade. GP
