In the US, Henry Hub natural gas spot prices fell through most of January and February and hit their lowest levels in 20 years in early March, according to the US EIA’s March 10 “Natural gas weekly update.” Milder temperatures pushed down gas consumption in early March, according to Bentek Energy data. However, the natural gas plant liquids composite price at Mont Belvieu, Texas, increased by 22 cents to $4.17/MMBtu in the first week of March. On the production side, output of NGL, LPG, ethane/ethylene and propane/propylene continued to rise through December 2015, the last month for which data was available as of the time of publication.
