Gastech is a global meeting of minds for the world's most influential and innovative natural gas and energy professionals. In 2014, the Gastech Exhibition in Seoul, South Korea drew more than 21,000 international attendees and over 400 exhibitors from around the world. The 2014 Gastech Conference welcomed 2,072 international delegates and VIPs, spanning the entire professional spectrum, from CEOs and COOs to engineers and analysts.

This year, the Gastech Conference and Exhibition will take place October 27–30 in Singapore, and promises to climb to new heights with an agenda featuring 120 of the industry’s most prominent speakers and representatives from the global gas supply chain.

Gastech 2015 will treat delegates to a trio of streams covering commercial, technical and specialist content. The streams will answer many of the questions facing the industry, from “What will the Pacific LNG market look like in 2020?” to “How can LNG buyers best position themselves ahead of the coming supply crunch?”

Gavin Sutcliffe, head of content and lead on Gastech’s governing body, remarks, “Singapore (Fig. 1) is at the heart of Asia’s continued emergence as the new global epicenter for gas and LNG demand. The opportunities for those supplying, engineering or advising on natural gas and LNG projects to this region are unlimited and exciting. With Gastech running alongside Singapore International Energy Week, as part of the 50th anniversary of the nation’s independence, there is no more exciting place in the world this year to develop new business through the gas and LNG value chain.”

Conference program. CEO of IE Singapore, Teo Eng Cheong, will kick off the conference with a keynote address outlining the Singapore government’s ambitions and strategy for its gas and LNG sectors. Helge Lund, CEO of BG Group, will follow by discussing the key role BG Group has played in helping develop Singapore as a future LNG hub.

Delegates will then discover how the Singapore LNG Corp. (SLNG) terminal was constructed to world-leading standards and what major challenges were overcome for a successful, accident-free project, courtesy of speaker Dilip Patel, engineering lead at Singapore LNG.

This year’s edition of Gastech not only looks at the challenges and opportunities facing the burgeoning LNG and energy markets, but also at those issues facing the workforce, and, more specifically, women in the market. The Women in Energy special feature will take an updated look at an overdue issue and address the challenges and opportunities for empowering women in the energy environment.

Also, the Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs) are back with the popular technical seminar series to raise awareness of technological developments and applications in the gas and LNG industry.

Gastech 2015 will provide attendees an insight into regional and global opportunities and give a unique and up-close perspective on Singapore’s overseas energy investment plans. The conference program’s 120 speakers will cover 12 key topic areas and represent key investors’ interests while highlighting unprecedented opportunities for the gas and LNG field to develop new business and new markets.
