Hydrocarbon Processing’s Construction Boxscore Database and Gulf Energy Information’s Energy Web Atlas are tracking 330 active gas processing/LNG projects around the world. At 35%, the Asia-Pacific region represents the largest market share for active projects, followed by the U.S. New project announcements have suffered during COVID-19 lockdowns and the subsequent decline in demand. However, capital-intensive projects are taking place in every region around the world. Most capital is being invested in additional LNG import infrastructure in Asia and new liquefaction trains in the U.S. However, several planned LNG projects around the world have pushed their FIDs to the 2021/2022 time frame. GP
