Energy Web Atlas is tracking nearly 400 active gas processing/LNG projects around the world. Most of these projects are in the Asia-Pacific and US regions. Combined, these two regions represent nearly 55% of active gas processing/LNG projects globally. Both regions are investing heavily to build new gas processing and LNG capacity. Over the next several years, the US will commission more than 70 MMtpy of new LNG export capacity (propelling it to the third-largest LNG exporting nation), while the Asia-Pacific region will continue to be the leader in new LNG regasification capacity. For example, India is boosting regasification capacity to meet spiking demand for power generation and heating. GP
